Delete a Resource Assignment

Objective

To delete an individual resource assignment in Resource Planning.

Things to Consider

Steps

You can delete requests from the following places in Resource Planning:

Delete a Resource Request from the Assignments List

  1. Navigate to the Company level Resource Planning tool.
  2. Click Assignments and select Assignments List.
  3. Locate the resource request you want to delete and click the gear icon-gear-wfp.png icon.
  4. Click Delete.
    OR
    Click the caret icon-caret-wfp.png icon and select Delete and Alert to delete the assignment and send an Assignment Alert to the assignee. See What is an assignment alert in Resource Planning?
  5. Click Are You Sure? to delete.

Delete a Resource Request from Assignment Boards

  1. Navigate to the Company level Resource Planning tool.
  2. Click Assignments and select Boards.
  3. Locate the resource request you want to delete.
  4. Hover over the request and click the gear icon-gear-wfp.png icon
  5. Click Delete.
    OR
    Click the caret icon-caret-wfp.png icon and select Delete and Alert to delete the assignment and send an Assignment Alert to the assignee. See What is an assignment alert in Resource Planning?
  6. Click Are You Sure? to delete.

Delete a Resource Request from Assignment Gantt (Legacy)

  1. Navigate to the Company level Resource Planning tool.
  2. Click Assignments and select Gantt (Legacy).
  3. Locate the resource request you want to delete and click the colored bar.
  4. Click Edit Request.
  5. Click Delete.

    Click the caret icon-caret-wfp.png icon and select Delete and Alert to delete the assignment and send an Assignment Alert to the assignee. See What is an assignment alert in Resource Planning?
  6. Click Are You Sure? to delete.

Delete a Resource Assignment from Assignments Gantt

 In Beta
This feature is in beta and available for customers using the Resource Planning tool.
  1. Navigate to the Company level Resource Planning tool.
  2. Click Assignments and select Gantt (Beta).
  3. On the list, right click the assignment or the assignment bar and click Delete Assignment.
    Note: You can also hover over the request in the list and click the vertical ellipsis icon-ellipsis-vertical.png, then select Delete Assignment.
  4. Click Delete to confirm.
 Important

Deleting a task on the Gantt can be undone by clicking the undo icon-gantt-undo.png icon, so long as you remain on the Gantt and stay within the same session. However, if you navigate away from the Gantt or your session expires, the task is permanently deleted.
