Initiate a Project Connection

Objective

To initiate a connection between two projects from two different Procore company accounts.

Background

Connectability for Drawings enables two separate Procore company accounts to connect their projects. The connection is one-way and copies published drawings from an nadrzędny source project to a podrzędny connected project in an unpublished state. Connected drawing metadata is automatically kept in sync with the nadrzędny project.

Only the users at the podrzędny company account can initiate a connection. Nadrzędny company accounts can choose to automatically approve connections, or require review to manually accept or reject a podrzędny project's request to connect. See Configure Connection Approval Settings. Projects can be disconnected by the nadrzędny or podrzędny account at any time.

Things to Consider

  • Required User Permissions
  • Projects can only be connected if they are in two different company accounts.
  • Projects with more than 100,000 drawing revisions cannot be connected.
  • Currently, a podrzędny project can only connect to one nadrzędny project.
  • For both nadrzędny and podrzędny accounts, users on the Connection Manager tool email distribution list are notified of new connections and connection requests (if review is required). See Connection Manager: Configure Advanced Settings.

Steps

  1. Navigate to the project's Connection Manager tool.
  2. Click Connect Nadrzędny.
  3. Select the nadrzędny company and project, then click Next.
  4. Review the considerations, then click Next.
  5. Click Connect to initiate the project connection.

If the nadrzędny company has chosen to automatically approve connections, the connection will be approved and your projects will be automatically connected. If the nadrzędny company has chosen to require review to manually accept or reject connections, a request will be sent to the nadrzędny company for review.
